The U.S. Public Health Service Auxiliary is strategically designed to serve as a force multiplier for the USPHS Commissioned Corps. While the Commissioned Corps remains America’s primary professional cadres for public health leadership, the Auxiliary provides the sustained surge capacity and specialized civilian skillsets required for massive, nationwide emergency activations. Auxiliary members serve as a supporting element, integrating seamlessly into medical operations, logistics staging, and community preparedness under the direction of Commissioned Corps leadership.
